A little speedy from last night. Been watching a lot of Feng Zhu's youtube tutorials, and was really inspired by his process. This was a new approach for me, drawing a loose line drawing straight onto the ps canvas and blocking things in real loose and working from there. Normally I draw thumbs on paper an then scan them, or lay down a load of strokes an just see what shapes my brushes make and go from there. But this was a really nice technique, really fluid and quick. There's a few perspective and lighting issues in there, but it was just a quick speedy so im not so worried. I'd like to work on putting shape and forms in that loose but are still understandable I failed on that.
my main problem is trying to find the balance of abstract forms and details, its a sort of bad mix at the moment, the loose parts are too rendered or not understandable enough, and the rendered parts aren't detailed enough. Hmm.... something imma work on.
enjoy
